Who am I?
I’m
Chieh-Yu. My major is business management. I always have a dream that I want to
go abroad and study. When I was 20 I thought that I couldn’t fulfil the dream
but international affairs gave me the chance to go abroad.
Am I good at English or German?
I
have to say that my English is just okay. As most of people, I don’t speak
English in Taiwan. More precisely, I wouldn’t have any opportunity to speak
English if I
don’t pursue for it. I
usually be a volunteer in international affairs. When some foreign students
come to exchange or do internship you will have plenty of chance can interact
with them.
To
be honestly, I didn't have any clue about German before I came to Germany. When
I arrived in Germany, the university offered intensive German classes. I only
have one thought that German is hard to pronounce and the grammar part is
complicated. I still think about that now but I wouldn’t hate it. When you have
stayed in Germany for one year, German is like a part of you body. I will
recommend people to exchange to Germany even if they don’t understand German.
Why I chose Germany?
There were several universities we can
choose to exchange but I chose Germany. The reason is I wanted to go to
somewhere in western country. Normally, people would like to go to Canada or
America but the tuition is so expensive than I could afford. Besides, Germany
is at a good location. It makes me can go to other country easily. That’s why I
chose Germany.
What did I do in Germany?
I had German classes, English classes, and
my major classes. It is important to arrange your time in Germany. You have
plenty of time but you are always busy. You have to go to classes, cook your
meal, buy groceries, meet your friends, study, travel, and so on. The first of
rule of Germany, always remember to make a reservation or an appointment.
Because if you don’t plan your even, you will need to pay more to do anything.
Usually the ticket price is double or triple if you don’t book your ticket
earlier.
In Germany everyone knows how to cook.
They usually have a full function kitchen. It is cheaper when you have food at
home. Besides everything is close on Sunday. I spent a lot of time at cooking.
I like to cook. It is the best way to make friends. I invited people to have
dinner with me. In that way I don’t need to worry if I cook too much and I can
always meet them.
What have I learned in Germany?
