Summer Camp at Harbin Institute of Technology Experience Sharing
It's my pleasure to apply for
the project of Harbin Institute of Technology Summer Camp. I want to share my
experience to you. First, I'm really grateful to my parents for supporting me
with the opportunity to go abroad that I desired.
As a world youth volunteer, I
have some experience of serving the students from HIT in January 2018, it's
really memorable. Fortunately, I met several HIT students who came to Taiwan
that I had served them before. They took us to dinner after we arrived in
Harbin. The reunion made me sure to be an international volunteer is worthy.
Talking to the students in
China, I think most of them are assertive and independent, that's what Taiwanese
students need to learn for. Although we have similar language, there are many
differences between us. For example, Russian buildings can be seen everywhere,
and lots of Russian food are the local famous features. And the most impressive
nature scenery I've ever seen is an ice cave with colorful light for decorating
in summer. Its temperature is stays at -12℃ only!
On the other hand, living
expense in Harbin is also attractive to me, I always spend a little bit to have
my meals. In contrast to the burning hot weather in Taiwan in July, I
especially love the comfortable weather there. It's hard to imagine that the
cool places we stayed are covered by snow everywhere in winter.
But I have to say, I couldn't
adapt to the service of some restaurants or shop, the ways clerks treated
customers are really different from Taiwan. I didn't see any smile and
consideration on clerks' faces there.
It's a meaningful and
rewarding trip to me. I strongly suggest you if possible, must try for earning
the chance to go abroad for trip or for internship. Meet people not only from
Taiwan, but also from all around the world would make you get more vision, even
change yourself.
In the end, I'm really
appreciate the International Affairs of NUU provides me such a previous
opportunity to go Harbin. I hope I can encourage some students to go abroad,
that must be benefit you infinitely!
